The comfrey did look pretty, but it had to be cut down. I grew it as 'green manure' to add to the compost heap and a handful to go into a bucket of water (leave for 3-5 weeks) to make into a liquid feed for the tomatoes. Then I dug up the roots and replanted smaller plants to start the whole process over again. This barrow of comfrey started off as one little plant last spring! So beware, if you are tempted to grow it either put in a container or away from other plants!
