Milton's Cottage

For those of you who have enjoyed my post about the Cottage Bookshop, here is another local hidden gem in the beautiful village of Chalfont St Giles.

Perhaps you have read John Milton's Paradise Lost (or maybe even just a little of it!)? Here is the cottage where he penned this epic 'poem' over 400 years ago! The surrounding garden is filled with the plants and flowers that feature in Milton’s poetry. The museum houses the finest open collection of first editions of Milton’s work.

A visit is an experience not to be missed.

The cottage is so alive with his belongings that you could be visiting the great man himself!!

So next time you are passing through this way, give me a shout, and I'll take you there!
