Black & White Challenge update

All twelve blocks have been completed - I can't believe how quickly they went together. Do I add sashing (plain black or something else?) What do you think?

Ros

PS Sorry for the quality of the photo - because of the building work I am very restricted to wall/floor space. I was standing on the furniture to take this shot and couldn't keep my balance very well!

  1. These look great!! I like the way the yellow-orange flows from one square to the next, so I probably wouldn't use sashing. An easy way to test out the effect, though, is to lay a piece of black fabric on the floor, and then place the blocks a bit apart from each other so the black shows through. I really like the fabrics!

  2. Love it Ros and I am inclined to agree with Jean. I was certainly going to suggest trying it on black fabric to gauge the effect.

  3. Hi Ros,
Make it three. I don't think you need sashing either. I love the visual connection among the yellow-orange cut-throughs. Are you thinking of any borders?
    Kind regards,

  4. Had you considered a neutral rather than black for the sashings? You know, the combination of black and white that results in gray. A neutral would make that yellow really sing.

  5. It's going to be a stunner Ros, and I think that black would really pull it all together,

  9. Ohh what a lovely colourful fabricky background.
Did you intend for the orange to meet one another? It's very clever the way that happens. Yes I too place blocks on a background with space inbetween to get the effect. Be interesting to see what you choose, I think it will look nice whatever you choose.
