I bought one metre of the blue and half a metre of the yellow (it is a soft creamy yellow - not beige - the light was a bit strange). What do you think about using it for the friendship quilt?

Friendship Block Swap

I am thinking about the next stage of my teaparty. Here are the blocks, in no particular order. Some of them will need a border and then perhaps some sashing, but what colour? Then I will need to think about layout. Lots of questions! If you have any suggestions to make I would very much appreciate your views!
The lovely people in my photo are Mike and my friend Maureen - who were very patient with me while I was taking this.

Tessa has just suggested that I take a colour which appears in some of the blocks and use it for the sashing. Take a look at the lovely pale blue which appears in the third row. Now how would that look?

Last night at my prayer group my friend Marilyn shared this lovely prayer with us all.

He Was There

Jesus heard when you prayed last night.

We are coming to the end of my turn in the friendship block swap.

Here is Jan's lovely tea set. My granny used to have a little white cupboard in the corner by the Raeburn, with waxed paper on the shelves (the yellow check looks very familiar) and this tea set is just the style she would have used for Sunday tea! She always used to sit in that corner of the kitchen in her little wicker arm chair.

Here is Jackie's bright and cheery breakfast tea set - just perfect to start the day with!

So now it's Caz's turn. She has asked for 'Purple, lilac and blue stars' so I have managed to get all these elements into my block. This one is called 'One Union Square' and was originally published by the Ladies Art Company in 1895.



Lastly, my selvedge postcard for Sophie. I had a few pretty selvedges so it was very tempting to make just one little postcard 'Sophisticats'.

Friendship Block Swap

Annette sent me this lovely, and very English, china tea set. This reminds me of my granny's kitchen table and the wonderful real strawberry jam sandwiches we used to eat! Annette's hand stitching is really beautiful and the back is as neat as the front.


Brenda (in Oz!) sent me this stunning Japanese tea set. It seems we both have a love of anything Japanese, though I bet Brenda's stash is larger than mine.

Thank you so much Annette and Brenda - they are both absolutely gorgeous!

This is Kerstin's beautiful pink rose and spotty tea set. What a beauty!

Lord, I worship You for all that You are. You are my Lord in the good times as well as the difficult. On the mountaintop as well as in the valley. I praise You in times of great blessing as well as in times of great challenge. It is because of You that I can stand strong, even when I feel weak. For I know that when I am weakest, You show yourself strong. I am grateful for Your salvation, deliverance, protection, goodness and blessings in my life every day. I know that everything I have comes from You. Because of Your great strength I go from glory to glory and strength to strength no matter what is happening in my life.

Friendship Block Swap

This morning I received two more squishy parcels in the post. The first one I opened was from Margaret and inside I found this beautiful 'oriental' teapot. Isn't this beautiful, with the lovely paper parasols on the teapot! Thank you Margaret!

Margaret also sent me this stunning card with an antique log cabin quilt on front and back!

My second squishy parcel was from Joanne. Another beauty! I really love the colours in this one: beautiful pinks and gold.

And Joanne sent me a bonus! A little pouch to keep my tea bags in.

Friendship Block Swap

My friends from Popular Patchwork have been busy! These were in the parcels which arrived in yesterday's and today's post. The spotty teaset is from Cath. Just look at the delicious tea! Makes me feel quite thirsty.

Caz has made me four charming teapots! Aren't they wonderful!

And some crazy teapots from Kim! What a sense of humour!

Thank you very much ladies. I will need to start thinking about how they will all go together. The sizes range in size from about 10" to 15" so I think the smaller ones will need an extra border to even them out. Unless anyone has another suggestion. If you do, please let me know!

(he was rather late, I thought I'd have to wait until Monday!)

Round 2 of the Friendship Swap, and guess who is the lucky recipient this month?

I could hardly believe it when Katy announced that it was me!!
